“Molecular diagnostics trailblazer Alison and I bonded over a love of Australian wildlife, particularly birds. I was moved by Ali’s contributions to queer resistance, particularly her involvement in the transformative Sydney protests of 1978.
Screen-printing for me is a reference to punk/queer lineages in poster, fashion and publication design. Ali’s coat features crude applications of prints of DNA molecules, overlaid with hundreds of screen-printed patches of Australian birds.”
