Luke Friend is an emerging fashion designer based in Sydney. Luke is currently a student in the Fashion + Textiles program at UTS.

Luke writes:

“For the CLOAK project, I wanted to engage with Srea’s perception of the lab coat as a tool to be used in the scientific process, whereby individuality is left at the door, and the identity of ‘the scientist’ is assumed. To emulate this concept, I transformed the white lab coat to resemble denim, the quintessential worker’s fabric. Additionally, I was inspired by Srea’s personal interest in neurology, Alzheimer’s disease specifically, and developed gold-foiled screen prints of an Alzheimer’s brain scan and brain imagery.”
